Frequently asked questions

When will my order ship?

We roast Monday, Wednesday and Friday and ship the next business day. Most orders arrive 2 to 5 business days after roasting. Gear ships separately from coffee, usually within one business day.

How much is shipping?

Free on one-time orders over $40 and on every subscription order. Otherwise a flat $6.95 anywhere in the contiguous US ($14.95 to Alaska and Hawaii). UPS 2nd Day Air is $18.95. We don't ship internationally yet.

Whole bean or ground?

Whole bean stays fresh much longer. If you don't have a grinder, choose the grind for your brewer and we'll grind it on roast day.

How long does coffee stay fresh?

Filter coffee is at its best from about 5 to 30 days after roasting, espresso from about 7 to 40. Keep the bag sealed, away from light and heat. Don't refrigerate it.

How do subscriptions work?

Pick any coffee, choose Subscribe & save and an interval of 1 to 4 weeks. You save 10% on every bag and shipping is free. Skip, swap, pause or cancel any time; there are no fees and no minimums.

Can I change my subscription coffee?

Yes, as often as you like, from your account or by replying to any shipping email.

What if I don't like a coffee?

Tell us within 30 days. We'll send a different coffee or refund it, and you don't need to send the bag back.

Do you sell 5 lb bags?

Hearthstone Blend, Night Shift Espresso and Slow Burn Decaf come in 5 lb bags, whole bean or drip grind. They are popular with offices and heavy espresso drinkers.

Do you do office coffee?

Yes. Office accounts from 10 lb a month get volume pricing, free delivery and brewer support. See our office & wholesale page for prices and a calculator.

Do you offer corporate gifts?

Yes. The Blue Ridge Gift Box has volume pricing from 10 boxes, and we print your message and logo card and ship to each recipient.

Do gift cards expire?

Never. Gift cards are delivered by email and can be used on anything, including subscriptions.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes, at the roastery Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Choose local pickup at checkout with a North Carolina address.

Is your coffee organic or fair trade?

Our Peru Cajamarca comes from a cooperative that farms organically. We pay well above Fairtrade minimums for every coffee, and publish what we paid for our direct-trade lots on the journal.
